Lifeline Federal Assistance Program

Lifeline is a federal program that lowers the monthly cost of phone and internet services for qualifying households. Eligible consumers will get up to $9.25 toward their bill. You can only use Lifeline for either phone or internet, but not both. To get the Lifeline discount with your BARC Connects service, you need to first apply for and be certified before contacting us about the discount. When you contact us, we will need to verify that you are not already receiving Lifeline service from another provider (cellular, telephone, or internet), before applying the discount.

How to qualify for a Lifeline Program discount

You must participate in at least one of the following programs to be eligible for a Lifeline Program discount:

  • Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP)
  • Supplemental Security Income (SSI)
  • Medicaid
  • Federal Public Housing Assistance (FPHA)
  • Veterans Pension and Survivors Benefit
  • Tribal Programs (and live on federally-recognized Tribal lands)
